In this episode, I explain how the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile one year ago ignited a fire in me that fueled the journey to create this show. That is Black-Owned Business.
We discuss the concept of PowerNomics, and how building an entrepreneurial spirit and ownership of the Black Community by the Black Community can affect long term social and economic change in the United States and around the globe.
Next, we address the structure and content of the show and preview the development of a companion online Black-Owned Business Directory at www.buyblackpodcast.com. I talk about (and will reiterate here) the intent that this show’s listening community will be filled with people who take real action and intentionally spend their dollars on quality Black-Owned products and services.
The show wraps up with a bit of housekeeping, where I discuss the things you, as a listener, can expect from me and my pledge to be transparent with you if/when I have a financial stake in any product or service recommendation that I make.
Thank you for listening. If you like the show and believe being a part of this community can enhance your world, please subscribe and leave a 5-Star Rating on iTunes.
